Media Release- ‘Dare to Dream’ the ultimate racehorse ownership opportunity

Ever dreamed of seeing your very own racehorse thunder across the finish line? South Australians are in with a chance to become racehorse owners, with Thoroughbred Racing SA (TRSA) launching its ‘Dare to Dream’ competition this Saturday September 28 – the ultimate racehorse ownership experience.

The initiative will see 25 winners score a 10% share in two racehorses for themselves and nine friends, with all costs – jockeys, vet, training, race entry fees, you name it - paid for two years and all horses ready to race. Not only will the winners have their best mates as co-owners, they’ll have one of South Australia’s top trainers by their side with Tony and Calvin McEvoy, Leon MacDonald and Andrew Gluyas, Richard and Chantelle Jolly, Chris Bieg and Ryan Balfour all on board to train the horses involved.

TRSA CEO Jim Watters said the experience would provide winners with a firsthand insight into the thrill of racehorse ownership and the care and expertise involved in the industry.

“We’re thrilled to be launching the Dare to Dream initiative and can’t wait to welcome our new owners to the track. In particular, we are pleased that Aushorse have seen the benefits to the racing industry that this initiative offers, and have come on board and financially support this promotion.

“There’s nothing like a day at the races, and that experience is heightened in every way if you own the horse– it’s a whole new level of excitement and exhilaration.

“Owners see race days from a unique perspective, from getting insight from their trainer and jockey, to checking in with their horse, and finally watching all the racing action with some skin in the game.

“Imagine standing trackside with nine of your best friends, cheering on your horse as it makes a dash for the finish line – there’s nothing else quite like that feeling.”

The winners will receive regular updates from the trainers on the progress of their horses and as part of the ownership experience they will have the chance to visit the trainer and horses at their home stables.

“The trainers you could be working with are some of the best and biggest names in South Australian, and indeed Australian racing.

“With a team like that in your corner, who knows, you could have a winner on your hands!”

The winning owners will of course take home a percentage of any prize money won by their racehorses.

Feeling lucky? Dare to Dream opens Saturday 28 September at www.daretodream.com.au. Entrants cannot currently be a racehorse owner, either individually or in a syndicate, and must be a South Australian resident aged 18 and over. Competition closes 9 November 2019, with winners drawn on Monday November 11, 2019. License no T19/1387
